Reflexology

"I think acupuncture, reflexology, Reiki, and Shiatsu massage are remarkable, and I used them for years to help with injuries and as a preventative measure."

– Luke Goss

Reflexology is a complementary therapy that has been around for thousands of years. The ancient Egyptians and Chinese are believed to have practised reflexology as a way to promote healing and wellness. The modern form of reflexology we know today was developed in the early 20th century by Eunice Ingham, an American physiotherapist. Her work mapped out the reflex points on the feet, hands, and ears and identified their connection to different organs and systems in the body.

Reflexology is based on the principle that all these different reflex points on the feet, hands, and ears can be utilised to positively affect the corresponding parts of the body. By stimulating these points through pressure and massage, reflexology can help to improve circulation, reduce stress and tension, and promote relaxation and overall well-being. Reflexology is often used as a complementary therapy alongside other treatments and is incorporated into Raynor Massage as a way to provide a more comprehensive treatment.

Reflexology can be particularly effective in treating conditions such as headaches, back pain, and digestive issues. I personally found it very good for plantar fasciitis.

Overall, reflexology is a safe and effective complementary therapy that can be used alongside other treatments to promote healing and wellness.

When combined with aromatherapy and deep tissue massage, reflexology can provide a powerful therapeutic experience that addresses both the physical and emotional components of the body.
